Luke's Christmas Climax!

We are having Jesus be born a bit early this year!  Lets look at the Christmas Story with new eyes.

Read Luke 2:1-20.

What is different than you remembered it?
What is missing from this version?
Which parts line up with the prophesies we've read?

Blessings--Emily

Before I heard Linus recite these verses on Charlie Brown's Christmas, I heard it read by my father. These are the only verses from the Bible I ever remember him reading, but every Christmas, before any presents were opened, my dad read these verses from Luke.
No star, no wise men, no flight to Egypt to escape King Herod in this version. But Luke and Mark skip the birth all together.
Micah talks about the ruler of Israel coming out of Bethlehem. Isaiah 7:14 says the virgin will give birth to a son and Isaiah 9:6 says for to us a child is born, a son is given.
Where is the donkey?
