HodgePodge

I really liked Psalm 39.

"I promised i would watch my steps so as not to sin with my tongue" (39:1) I work on that a lot!  "Promised to keep my mouth shut as long as the wicked were in my presence.  So I was completely quiet, silent.  I kept my peace but it did no good!  My pain got worse.  My heart got hot inside me; while stewing over it, the fire burned."

There is a time to speak.  Sometimes that fire inside means you need to stand up. Speak out.  I try so hard to hold my tongue.  But sometimes it comes out.  I blame my mama!  She is really good at holding her tongue--UNTIL. Sometimes God needs us to get to "until".  Where do you need to stand up?  Stick out?  Speak up?
But then we get to Psalm 40.

"You don't relish sacrifices or offerings" (40:6)

I loved those verses!  "Your instruction is deep within me!" (verse 7)

Sometimes I think I have to do big things for God to love me.  But I don't!  God loves me period.  More, by studying his Word, his words are deep within me.  Its a lovely picture.

What hit you this day?

Blessings--
Pastor Emily

I love 40:3 - He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.
Helping to lead the contemporary praise service is one of my life's richest blessings. Every Sunday, I feel honored and humbled that the Lord can use me in this way. I so feel His great love and the Spirit moving within me when I sing songs of praise.
Blessings!
