Scripture--John 7-John 9

Observation:
I always feel so bad for the man born blind.  His whole life they thought he sinned or his family did.  His whole life he was not only blind, but he was shunned.  And now, he finally gets healed, and what happens?  His family and friends and town doesn’t believe him!  They don’t believe that he is better.  They don’t even believe he is who he claims to be.  See, when each of us meet Jesus—we come back changed.  The man saw Jesus and came back changed.  The woman caught in adultery who saw Jesus, was changed. Even the Pharisees were changed!

Application:  We have met Jesus several times on this journey.  How have you been changed?  Do people still recognize you?  Are you the same?

Prayer:  Oh God of transformation!  Heal us!  Change us!  Make us more like you!  Thank you for your blessings.   May we be such a blessing to others!  Amen

Have a great day!

Jesus is the light of the world. He brings light to the blind man's darkness. John often points out the light/dark contrast.
Jesus, bring light to my life and let it shine!

The more time I spend in the word, the more John 9:25 rings true -- "I was blind but now I see". (also a line from my Mom's favorite hymn). Lord, continue to open my eyes to what you want me to see.

My other favorite verse from this section is 8:7 "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone". This verse helps me when I am tempted to judge others.
