Bless the Lord, Oh My Soul

I could barely even read past the first verses of Psalm 103 before I started writing.

So often, I ask Go for blessings--but here, we are asking that our soul blesses God.  How do you bless God?  How is it that what you do blesses God?  What can you do this week to Bless God?

I remember this praise chorus as one of my most favorites.  But I had to go through several others to get there....

Like this GREAT song from Matt Redman!

Or this one by Tye Tribbett

And finally I found it.  Do you remember this one?

It is one that is ingrained in my soul.  Its a song I sing when I am thinking or sad.  One of the things that always seems to calm me is singing.  Praise to God.

How are you doing with these Psalms?

Blessings!

What a great way to start the day. Love the music! I must say I never thought of praising God being a blessing to God but really why not? Think of how someone affirming you can be a blessing to you. How it lifts you up and makes you smile. I think it works that way with God too.

This verse can be used as a Breath Prayer, where you take a deep breath in with one phrase and slowly breath out with the next phrase. Another good way to calm yourself by focusing on God.
When we remember all of God's creation, all his works- through history and for us personally and all of God's attributes- Holy, Loving, Righteous, Forgiving, Healing, etc. we bless the Lord!
These have been some great psalms! Thanks for the songs, Emily!
