Encouragement

Scripture--Hebrews  8-Hebrews  10

Observation:
Like Lindsay mentioned earlier this week, this notion of encouraging each other stuck out to me.  In 10:25 Paul reminds us to continue to meet together and to encourage each other!

Application:
This has been so much fun!  We've been able to encourage each other throughout.  I'm not sure if Paul ever envisioned the internet when he wrote these passages, but I hope that he'd smile with the way we are "meeting together!"  I've spent a lot of time lately arguing with well meaning individuals about why social media is important.  Whenever they balk, I just point to you all!  I point to the success of this bible study, and how its brought together people from all different places and beliefs to studying and being intentional about our faith!  Thank you for journeying through this with me!

Blessings to you all!

Prayer:
O Spirit of Truth--Thank you for my friends.  Please bless them and encourage them.  Please help open my eyes to those who need your love and encouragement.  Thank you!  Amen.

Blessings!

It is so difficult, Emily, for some to jump into the 21st century; I know that I was dragged kicking and screaming at first until I saw the potential and practicality in it all.

Giving encouragement to others is easier, more convenient now, than ever before, and I treasure the sharing of scripture reflections over this summer of study together. I have learned so much and, even though I don't personally know every contributor, I feel that each has become a part of my life and my soul and have given my faith walk a bounteous boost. Some, I'm sure, who heard Paul's words of encouragement had never met him, but were inspired and motivated just the same.

Thanks for using us as such a convincing example, Emily, and thank you for having the courage to do so!

Another verse in the same vein, 10:24, "Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds." Studying the New Testament together has done that. I need to see how to do that, especially at work. There are many negative forces there and I need to focus on the "love and good deeds" there, because there is much opportunity!
